Peter Siekmeier, MS, MD
Dr. Siekmeier is an attending psychiatrist at McLean Hospital with over 20 years of experience treating patients in inpatient and outpatient settings. He has expertise across a range of diagnoses, including anxiety, depression, obsessive compulsive disorder, ADHD, dementia, bipolar disorder, and other mental health conditions. He has a particular interest in the evaluation and treatment of diagnostically complex patients. He is currently on the faculty of Harvard Medical School and supervises medical students and psychiatric residents at McLean.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Siekmeier conducts research centering on the use of computational models of psychiatric illness, and on the development of novel electroencephalographic (EEG) biomarkers for schizophrenia and other conditions. His research has been supported by National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) and private foundation grants, and has been published in peer reviewed journals spanning fields from basic neuroscience to clinical research.
Outside of his professional work, Dr. Siekmeier enjoys skiing, travelling, watching classic films, listening to jazz, and spending time with his wife, daughter, and dog.
