John J. Byrnes, M.A., Ph.D
Dr. Byrnes is a Behavioral Health Case Consultant with over 25 years' experience spanning academia, drug discovery, and clinical practice. He is the former owner and operator of Metrowest Neuropsychology, LLC, a group practice specializing in neuropsychological assessment across the lifespan. Trained in both neuroscience and counseling psychology, he brings an integrative perspective to behavioral health.
At Fresh Pond Neuropsychology, Dr. Byrnes works with adult clients facing a range of cognitive and behavioral health concerns, bringing a neuroscientific and psychoeducational approach to client education and care coordination. He works to integrate the full picture so that clients can understand their situation clearly and, where helpful, connect with the right care. His goal is to translate complex information into something practical and usable that empowers clients.
Outside of Fresh Pond Neuropsychology, Dr. Byrnes serves as a scientific consultant for drug discovery companies and has founded two pharmaceutical companies. He also teaches psychology and neuroscience at the college level, remaining committed to both advancing scientific knowledge and sharing it with others. In his free time, he enjoys the outdoors and volunteering in his community.
